Goodbye SPTL!

My two months stint has ended @SPTL, with before that, 2.5months @SPE Networks. Time passed real fast. @1st, I really couldn't adjust & adapt mainly because of the Ahjuma, who is the Library Supervisor there. Gosh, she really reminds me of that FBB previously @Starhub! :O If not for that Ahjuma, one of my colleagues there, Jessie asked me if I would stay. I said yes. Coz' I know I cannot work with people like her who is bossy, controlling, insecure. It seems that most Sups @Media Library are so darn odd, I must say. :P The Oddballs!
But I'm thankful to God for the nice colleagues whom I got to know there. I will definitely miss them!
From SPTL to NBC Universal! A whole new workplace & environment. I hope & pray that I'm able to enjoy my stint there as well. I realised this is the 3rd media company that I'm working for already. Its interesting to see how different companies are run. It has been a good experience. After this, I'm not too sure where this will lead me to though. Perhaps I will niche a career path in Media Line or I might get a job elsewhere in a different industry. I'll just have to see.

Day Out with buddies
Singing songs from our favourite band- The Script
Enjoyed a day's out with the two laydees. We went to KLunch 1st & sang to our hearts' content for 4hours. I pretty much sang mostly English songs...shiok! :D After the K Session,we went to watch "Hugo" directed by Martin Scorsese. I must say that its a pleasant surprise to know this wonderful magical adventure film is directed by the legendary director. Coz' nearly all of his films are somewhat quite heavy stuff like "The Departed" & "Shutter Island". Well, this film has proven that he is all well-rounded.
The film is based on a book "The Invention of Hugo Cabret". It follows the adventure of Hugo Cabret, a resourceful boy who learnt the skills of clock fixing from his father (played by Jude Law). After his beloved father died suddenly in a fire, the boy was engrossed in a quest of fixing the robot found by his father, as to find out the message left for him. During his quest, he met different people in the midst & ultimately the secret hidden in the robot transformed all around him & in the end, he found a wonderful & loving home family in the form of Georges Melies, a silent movie film-maker.
I was impressed by Sacha Baron Cohen who acted as the somewhat amusing station inspector. I never watched his films before but know that he's a comedian. After I watched him in "Hugo", I can say that this guy can act! haha! Sir Ben Kingsley as the legendary film-maker, Georges Melies is phenomenal. I've always like him. He reminded me of Sir Anthony Hopkins(another favourite of mine)who are known good actors & act in diverse roles.
There's a part which Hugo was telling Isabelle about that even robots have purposes. A particular quote really spoke to my heart- "Everyone has a purpose, we are here for a Reason. If there's no purpose in our lives, its like we are broken." So true! :)

Weekend chillout
Met up with Buddy during last weekend for our favourite activities-Shop & Eat! :) We met @our usual haunt CWP for a late lunch @Pizza Hut. They've added new menus & I must say that they're good! :) We ordered the Hawaiian Pizza & Shroomies Wrap as well as dessert-chocolate cake with ice-cream. Gosh, we were so full by the time we finished up & skipped dinner afterwards. After a full & satisfying meal, off to shopping! Metro was having a 20% storewide discount & I managed to get a lovely white dress from my favourite Japanese brand-Forever Orange & some cosmetics. Oh what a wonderful day! :)
