Cornetto Cupidity, Kismet Diner (Film)
A friend shared this meaningful video on Facebook. :) I just gotta share it here on Blogger too! Its about Mr Cupidity in the image of a vengabond who helped a beautiful waitress cum singer conversed with the stranger whom she fancies. I love his quotes: "Its not just about singing a song, its singing to the right person. There are moments in life where we all need a little help." So true!
Coldplay - Magic
One of my favourite bands, Coldplay is up with a new album & new single "Magic". As always, their MTVs are always so creative! This MTV was true to the theme of the song - Magic. Coldplay Frontman, Chris Martin acted as a Magician's assistant. I thought I saw a familiar face...it was none than international chinese star, Zhang Ziyi! She's exceptionally beautiful & exotic-looking in this MTV. & she acted as the Magician's estranged wife.
Black & white theme, like in the 1920's silent films. Kudos!

Hangul Class! 한국어 교실
At Hangul Class with our teacher 선생, Yuri & classmates.
I kick-started 2014 by learning Hangul! What make me decide to take up Hangul? It all started after meeting up with one of my friends, Su last December to celebrate her Birthday. We were talking about our common favourite Korean drama "The Master's Sun". & the topics stretched on to Holiday in Korea & Learning Hangul. Su then asked me if I was keen to sign up for Korean Language Beginner Class. She got to know the class through Meetup application. I replied yes almost immediately! So, few weeks later on early January, class commenced. Learning a new language was fun & fresh for me. Our teacher, Yuri is a friendly, helpful & patient lady. We are blessed! I faithfully attended class every week without missing a single lesson & diligently did revision. & time passed by quite quickly & we had come to the last lesson. Teacher 선생 Yuri informed us that she would be starting a new Intermediate Class & asked if we were interested to sign up. At first, I was hesistant as from Basic & immediate jump to Intermediate? I asked 선생 for her advice. She encouraged me to sign up. I decided to give it a go! & in the end, I was the only one to go on to Intermediate Class! As my classmates missed out lessons for the Beginner Class, they would still need to wait for make-up lessons. Thank God I attended every lesson!
I initially thought that I was just going to stick to Basic Class & most likely won't continue after that to Intermediate Class, coz 1) I just wanna know the Basics, thats all. 2) Intermediate Class would be a HUGE jump for me if I continue. However, I'm glad that I decided to continue on. 1st round of Intermediate Class just ended last Saturday. & to be honest, I was struggling with the lessons as it was really so big difference from Basic. 선생 Yuri focused more on Grammar & Vocabulary & sentence structure. :O It was really not easy! :( But I don't want to give up. Intermediate Class 2nd round will commence after teacher Yuri comes back from her holiday (She's going back to Korea for holiday for 2 weeks). I will continue with round 2! :-D
화이팅!
At least there's something that I can look forward to every week & as a hobby. If not, life would be so darn boring & only work, work, work. It doesn't help that since last year, I was stuck in S'pore with no chance to go on vacation. Sob sob! Hence, learning Hangul is my passion now. 화이팅! Go! ;-)

Which life will you live? - ONE ft. Wang Leehom
Chanced upon this short production starring one of my favourite singer musician, Wong Lee Hom. I like the meaningful quote @ the end of it -
There are inifinite possibilites for what our lives can be. But only one reality we can live in. Only one we'll ever know. Make sure you choose to live the one you want. :)

Life of PI
Finally got to watch the philosophical movie "Life of PI" directed by one of my favourite directors & storytellers, Lee Ang! My mum & I had dinner with Joan & the boys on the 1st day of 2014 & upon invitation by my elder nephew, Linus, I went ahead. :)
I knew that it was a pretty lengthy movie running @127 mins. I thought I would fall asleep halfway through but surprisingly, I didn't! I was able to watch the movie in full concentration despite occasional distractions from Linus & Lucius.
PI @ a tender age began searching for Spirituality. He was brought up as a Hindu vegetarian but later on, accepted Christianity & Islam as his Faiths, as he just wanna love God. It reminded me of my own life. I started seeking Spirituality when I was 8 years old. For PI, both Christianity & Islam attacted him. For me, it was Christianity. I got to know Christ during music class when I was in Primary two. My music teacher was a Christian & she would teach us sing Christian songs via picture books. I was drawn by the pictures that depicted Jesus' kindness to children & animals. I remember thinking to myself, "This must be God". I believe this is fate. I didn't choose Him or found Him. Instead, He chose me & found me. :)
PI was stranded @ sea for an unbelievably 227 days with a bengal tiger named Richard Parker. He survived a huge storm while @sea & was drifted to an island of edible plants with a large population of meerkats. PI & Richard Parker ate & drank freely & regained strength. However, upon discovery that the island's plant life was carnivorous @ night time forced him to return to the boat. PI said something that really spoke to my heart - that sometimes we thought God had abandoned us but He was watching, that He knows that we are tired & He gave us rest as to have the strength to continue with our journey. To me, this applies in the journey of life.
Even with the storm itself, to me depicts our lives. The ups & downs in life. We don't know if we can survive & pull through. But the storm won't go on forever, it will die down eventually. And after every storm, there's always Sunshine. :)
PI realised that caring for the tiger & the fear of it kept him alert. It kept him alive unknowingly. Instead of running away from our fears, we have to fear it in order to conquer it. :)
Watching "Life of PI" on the very 1st day of a brand new year, I have every reason to believe that it is a good sign of what is to come, awaits & hold for me in 2014. :)
Here's a toast to 2014! By God's Grace, I hope it will be the best year EVER for me! Cheers!
