At Hangul Class with our teacher 선생, Yuri & classmates.
I kick-started 2014 by learning Hangul! What make me decide to take up Hangul? It all started after meeting up with one of my friends, Su last December to celebrate her Birthday. We were talking about our common favourite Korean drama "The Master's Sun". & the topics stretched on to Holiday in Korea & Learning Hangul. Su then asked me if I was keen to sign up for Korean Language Beginner Class. She got to know the class through Meetup application. I replied yes almost immediately! So, few weeks later on early January, class commenced. Learning a new language was fun & fresh for me. Our teacher, Yuri is a friendly, helpful & patient lady. We are blessed! I faithfully attended class every week without missing a single lesson & diligently did revision. & time passed by quite quickly & we had come to the last lesson. Teacher 선생 Yuri informed us that she would be starting a new Intermediate Class & asked if we were interested to sign up. At first, I was hesistant as from Basic & immediate jump to Intermediate? I asked 선생 for her advice. She encouraged me to sign up. I decided to give it a go! & in the end, I was the only one to go on to Intermediate Class! As my classmates missed out lessons for the Beginner Class, they would still need to wait for make-up lessons. Thank God I attended every lesson!
I initially thought that I was just going to stick to Basic Class & most likely won't continue after that to Intermediate Class, coz 1) I just wanna know the Basics, thats all. 2) Intermediate Class would be a HUGE jump for me if I continue. However, I'm glad that I decided to continue on. 1st round of Intermediate Class just ended last Saturday. & to be honest, I was struggling with the lessons as it was really so big difference from Basic. 선생 Yuri focused more on Grammar & Vocabulary & sentence structure. :O It was really not easy! :( But I don't want to give up. Intermediate Class 2nd round will commence after teacher Yuri comes back from her holiday (She's going back to Korea for holiday for 2 weeks). I will continue with round 2! :-D
화이팅!
At least there's something that I can look forward to every week & as a hobby. If not, life would be so darn boring & only work, work, work. It doesn't help that since last year, I was stuck in S'pore with no chance to go on vacation. Sob sob! Hence, learning Hangul is my passion now. 화이팅! Go! ;-)
