조각 (Pieces Of Love) - 이민호 Lee Min Ho

Got to listen to Minho-si's debut album - My Everything. One word - Awesome! :D Totally in love with his gentle and unique voice now! Initially, I was quite skeptic about Minho's vocal chords and thought he should stick to acting. Though he contributed to 1 of the tracks in "The Heirs" O.S.T "Painful Love" & he sang well, but can he pull off of an album of 7 tracks? I thought he could only sing ballads but I was surprised that he could sing mid-tempo tracks like "My Princess" & "Love Motion" very well! :D Minho-si never fails to impress & amazed me! ;-) He could bring out the emotions of each song well. He mentioned that when he's singing, he will tend to close his eyes unknowingly. Because he's an actor, he will express the emotions needed in every song. 看得出他的用心。认真的男人最吸引人！爱！

My favourite track of the album has gotta be the slow rock ballad "Pieces of Love". I just love the guitars & especially the chorus. 加上李敏镐唱的很有feel! 棒！Apparently, gotta know that this is his favourite track in the album too! ^^

Lee Minho Drama Marathon - Boys Over Flowers <韩版流星花园>

 The notorious F4. Kim Hyun Joong looked so different here as one of the members of Flower 4. Flowery, he looked. haha! Very princely look. Since then, he seemed to gradually wanting to shed that image to go for a more rugged & manly look. As for my beloved Minho-si, he had changed from boy to man. ;) 

 I like this couple - Yi Jung & Ga Eul (Played by Kim Bum & Kim So Eun). Sweet! Yi Jung was initially a playboy, as like his father. However, after receiving much Love from Jan Di's bestie, Ga Eul, he gradually learnt & had the courage to Love. Kim So Eun is so lovely & sweet like candy! :D

 Both Minho & Ku Hye Sun displayed great chemistry as the couple who constantly argued but had each other in their hearts.

Kim Bum & Minho became good friends after shooting BOF. :) I wonder why he didn't become mates with Kim Hyun Joong though. heehee!

 Jan Di & Ji Hoo. If not for my preference for Minho & Domioji, I would love to see these two as a couple. :P

  I reckon the korean version of F4 is 2nd best after the Taiwanese F4. The Japanese frails in comparison though.

My favourite Minho-si as the notorious, loud, lonely but lovely Goo Jun Pyo (Domioji in the original Japanese version). & that famous 'curry puff' curls, can't stand it! LOL! 

 Minho-si in his signature 'killer' stare as Goo Jun Pyo. Love those eyes! Thats how I fell in love with him in his 2nd breakthrough drama "The Heirs". :) I love his wardrobe choice of apparel in the drama. Suits him, especially black. Kudos to the production & waredrobe team! ;)

 Finally got to watch Lee Minho in soccer action, in the drama! Though it was for awhile, could really see his good soccer skills! Will be great to see him play in a full match! If not for his injury in his elementary school, I reckon he would be an amazing soccer player! :) & I reckon he would be Christiano Ronaldo of Korea - blessed with great soccer skills & good looks that would make many girls swoon over him. :-D Oh well, anyhow, its a blessing in disguise. If not, we would not have gotten such a 'treasure' in the entertainment industry! ;)

Makino & Domioji in The original Japanese manga "Hana Yori Dango". 

I've watched the original Japanese anime years ago and I loved it, one of my favourites of all time. The music, the setting, I learnt quite abit of Japanese words especially swearing by Domioji in it. LOL!  Not long after, it had been filmed to a drama version in Taiwanese that made F4 - Jerry Yen, Vic Zhou, Vanness Wu & Ken Zhu a household name. Followed by the Japanese version. & of course, the Korean version. I gotta thank Minho-si for letting me relive this wonderful manga once again!

Okay, so Minho-si did play kinda comedy role - in "Boys Over Flowers"  . :D Before watching the drama, my bestie, Ivy told me that I would see a funny side of Lee Minho. She was right! I laughed like mad during the funny scenes of Gu Jun Pyo. I guess its not difficult for Minho to play that part as he himself has a mischievous side. ;) 

Gu Jun Pyo (Domioji in the original japanese manga) is a complex character. He is notorious, arrogant, violent, bossy, domineering, loud but yet had a soft, gentle & sensitive side towards his love, Jan Di. Its not easy to portray him. Whoever could play this role successfully is a good actor. & I'm glad that Minho clinched this role & played him flawlessly, hence became his breakthough role & his popularity rose after BOF. I remembered watching this drama on & off when it 1st aired years ago. I didn't have much impression on Minho though but I thought he acted well as the korean version of Domioji. Kim Hyun Joong's Ji Hoo (Hanazawa Rui in the original Japanese manga) left me with a deep impression though. :D Anyway, Flower Boys didn't really appeal to me. And I thought Minho is just another one of them who only had the looks. I was so wrong! Even after I watched this drama now, no doubt of it, Minho shined in this drama! His 'killer' stare was already 'activated' back then. Haha! I regretted for not noticing this 'gem' sooner! Well, its not too late now, I reckon. ;) I'm so hooked on him now! :D

Lee Minho Drama Marathon - Personal Preference <个人取向>

Okay, I watched Minho-si's drama before his historial drama "Faith" . It was surprising for Minho-si to choose to act in this drama as it was considered to be an adult role, completely different from his character in "Boys Over Flowers" . Minho stated that he wished to act in more different roles as he grows older. So I reckon it was a good choice. One thing about Minho, I find that he's good @ choosing good roles & script to act in. He acted in varieties of different roles, which is good. Won't get stereotyped. :-) 

Minho acted as a perfectionist architect who pretended to be gay as to get access to Sanggojae, a house that he's doing research for, for a project bid. He had to pretend to be gay to be Kae-in's room mate. From there, many happenings occured & as in any typica drama or Korean Drama I would say, they fell in love. 欢喜冤家的故事。The initial part was absolutely hilarious as Kae-in totally treated Jin-ho as a gay & asked him to help her to buy sanitary pads. But the story plot built up afterwards was rather draggy. Took abit long to reach the climax. Other than that, the drama was good to watch. 

So Ye-jin & Minho's chemistry was delightful to watch. So Ye-jin is older than Minho. Minho has said in interviews that he tend to work more with older actresses. (But I reckon Park Shin Hye, for once @ "The Inheritors" is younger than her, he must be happy. haha!)  Anyhow, the lead actresses in Minho's dramas are likeable, including So Ye-jin. :-D 

NELL "지구가 태양을 네번/ Four times around the sun/ 地球が太陽を4回"

NELL is what I described as a band that I found in a "Treasure Hunt". :-) I like to discover bands that plays unique music & NELL is one of them! Mostly, K-Pop is famously known for the boy bands & girl bands. & good music soundtracks from Korean Dramas. I chanced upon NELL's music performance of their hit "Ocean of Light" in a music countdown show & immediately, I thought "WOW!" Alternative Korean Music! Rare! I immediately fell in love with the song! NELL's music reminds me of mixture of Owl City and Coldplay. 



Four Times Around the Sun is yet another delightful song from the band. ;-) 

Laser Quest!

Had fun time with my colleagues and I went to Laser Quest @ Home Team NS last Friday after work. Brought along my nephews. They enjoyed it to the max! Gosh, I sweated buckets! It was really a workout, man! Because I haven't been had such strenuous exercise for the longest time, my muscles are aching! Ouch! :O 侄儿们都玩的不亦乐乎， 说还要在玩。我已经快要断气了。哈哈！他们叫我要多运动。:) 

Lee Minho drama marathon - Faith Aka The Great Doctor

 I love Minho-si's image in Faith! So manly! LOVE!

 The ever lovely Kim Hee Sun! She doesn't look like a mother of one, does she? She's the 1st Korean actress whom I like! The very 1st Korean drama that I watched was years ago starred her & another korean actor, Kim Suk Hoon. 

At 1st, before I like Minho-si, I watched "Faith" because of Kim Hee Sun, on & off though. But now, it was because of Minho. Haha! The same reason for watching "The Heirs". :-P

Okay, I must say that this is most manly role amongst Minho-si's dramas. The reason I reckon was because the fact that he acted as a warrior. He still looked very boyish, like a boy in the previous dramas - Boys Over Flowers, Personal Preference & City Hunter. I find that his transformation to manliness was from this drama "Faith" onwards. 

His character in the drama, Choi Young was a tortured soul before he met Kim Hee Sun's character, Eun Soo who was a modern day plastic surgeon, kidnapped by him and travel back in time, 700 years in the past. They fell in love with each other later on.

I'm completely mesmerized by Minho-si's expressive eyes & brooding look in the drama. I like the way he's protective of Eun-Soo, the way he keeps his promise to escort her to the portal gate, his simple gestures of love as like a husband to his wife like packing her clothes for her & combing her hair. I think I've fallen in love with General Choi Young! haha!

I watched an interview Minho-si did with a Japanese programme, on the drama "Faith". He revisited the filming location & shared his filming experiences of the drama. Filming was difficult as at times, the temperature soared upto 40 degrees! & he had to wear the thick & heavy armour. Oh man, it must be been really taxing on him! :O He had to learn horse riding & sword fighting too for a few months. He's really a diligent & hardworking actor plus serious actor. :) In the midst of the hardship, he seemed to be able to keep a positive attitude. Watched behind the scenes clips of him & Kim Hee Sun joking around, teasing each other and playing games. He's quite a playful chap. It must be fun having him around. :-D I hope to see him acting in more light hearted dramas though rather than the heavy ones. It will be nice to see him in a comedy role or something! ^^

Maleficent

Angelina Jolie is Magnificient as Maleficent!

I've always been a big fan of Angelina Jolie & of course I wouldn't miss watching her play the Classic Villian from a Classic Fairytale, wouldn't I? 

Maleficent tells the story of the villian in the Classic Fairytale "Sleepy Beauty". On how she turned evil because of betrayal from the man she loves, how she was blinded by vengence & cursed his one & only lovely, sweet & innocent daughter, Princess Aurora, how she was won over by her kindness & regretted the curse that she cannot reverse & how she turned good in the end by saving her. In a twist of the original fairytale which Princess Aurora was brought to life by the kiss by a handsome prince, she was awoken by the tender motherly kiss by Maleficent instead! Oh yeah, the prince tried to smooch her but no respond @all. The 3 fairies panicked & shouted to him "You are not doing it properly!". Humourous! LOL! 

This story twist reminded me of another Fairytale inspired "Frozen" (Snow Queen). Princess Anna was too brought to life by the kiss of her sister, Elsa. So I reckon the moral of the story actually is "You don't need a man to save you." ;-) And also true love doesn't necessarily mean the love between a man & a woman. It can mean kinship & friendship love as well too. Interesting!
