A Time of Rest 休息是为了走更长的路

I always believe everything happens for a reason and even if it was supposing to be a bad thing, it could be a blessing in disguise. God will always turn around the situation for my good.

One month ago, after getting breakfast at Macdonald's, I slipped and fell at the exit door. I sprained my right knee as a result. 😖 My first reaction was if anybody saw my predicament.😅 It was painful but I could walk & got through the day at work as normal. However, the next day during afternoon, I struggled like crazy at work. Everytime I got up to walk (to the washroom, to the pantry to refill water), the pain intensified. By the time I reached home after work, I couldn't barely walk. 😓My knee was in such excruciating pain, I wasn't able to sleep well. Thank God for His comfort and from my sweet Teddy Bear R, I felt slightly better. The next day, my mum accompanied me the chinese sinsei to massage my poor swollen kneecap. I had to walk with the aid of umbrella as a walking stick, I must looked so pathetic. But what the heck. 😟 The moment the sinsei saw me, he was able to tell that I fell down & how I fell.😯 The next 20 mins of the massage seemed like forever & I tried my best not to cry out in pain. 😫 The sinsei told me that it would take time for my knee to fully recover & heal as it is more delicate area as compared to the ankle. After the massage session, I went to consult the doctor & was given 2 days MC.

During this time, the COVID-19 situation has become increasingly serious with increasing infected cases. The winterwear company management that I work part-time for, has decided to cut costs due to poor sales & part-timers are not required at the time being. Strangely, I felt a sense of relief and peace & was not sad. God has all plan out for me - My contract for the current job was extended, so that I need not worry about finance & job search. He gave me extra rest from my part-time job so that as to let my leg recover. God is good! 😊

My leg is much better now, thank God, but I still have to walk slowly & cannot walk too much. During these few weeks, I realised that everything happens for a reason. God wants me to tell me to slow down, not only my physical walking pace, but my pace of life. I had been working too hard - working 6 days a week, (working at the winterwear shop one day every weekend) sometimes had to go back office to do overtime during Saturdays.

I learn to appreciate the things around me now, taking it slow.

On the similiar note, the world pace seems to slow down also due to COVID-19 lockdown. During this time, people get to spend more time with their loved ones and have more time to themselves, doing the things/hobbies that they were unable to do so previously because of tight work schedules.
I reckon this all too, might be a blessing in disguise. ❤

The bushes with lovely white & sunny yellow flowers by the side of the walkway. I walk past everytime on my way to the foodcourt during lunchtime at work but I didn't notice at all. After I slow down my walking pace, (no choice initially but now I chose to☺🌼🌻🌼🌻.) I started to be able to enjoy the scenery around me.

Liriel e Márcio José - Creio em TI

I was pleasantly surprised when this song was performed by one of our talented church members recently during church service! I fell in love with this song ever since.❤ The reason being excited of hearing or knowing everything Portuguese is the fact that my Teddy Bear R is from the beautiful country. 😊😍💖

I remembered 10 years ago, I went for an enjoyable & unforgettable holiday trip to Macau with my buddy & her hubby. Macau, being a former Portuguese Colonial, the buildings have a European feel & influence in it & authentic Portuguese food can be found in many places. I didn't have the chance to try the Portuguese cuisine there but I did tried & enjoyed the famous Portuguese egg tart 🍮(Pastel de nata) oh so much. 👍 I remembered thinking and telling myself that how good it will be if I can visit Portugal one day. Little did I know that 8 years later, I would come to know my Love R who is from Lisbon. It must be have fate/destiny! 😘💕

Fifty Shades Freed

Ok, my blog is almost dead now as I haven't been updating my blog for quite awhile😅. I notice that there is new feature to add in special characters (I'm particularly interested in the emojis😊). Cool, I like it! 😉

Ok, the 1st blog after months - I wanna write about the 3rd & last of the Fifty Shades Trilogy - Fifty Shades Freed. To make sure that I can catch up with the movie that was to be shown in February 2018, I read the book last November. The last book, I must say has alot of emotions, action & of course, sex in it. 😜 Well, actually all three books has alot of emotions to it. 😉💕In Fifty Shades Freed, Ana & Christian 'Adonis Hot' Grey were married & the readers were followed through to their honeymoon at Paris (Oh I wish that I can go there with my baby R.😘)& their married life. Christian still has the controlling tendencies in him but Ana was able to stand up to him without fear. Ana later on found out that she was pregnant & as expected from the reaction from Christian, he was worked-up & chided Ana for forgetting to inject the contraception shot. Christian still has emotional issues & wasn't ready to be a Dad as he feared that he would be a shitty Dad. (Thats how Ana put it😅) Ana also had to deal with his psycho ex-boss Jack Hyde who began stalking them. The climax of the story came when Jack kidnapped Christian's sister, Mia. He phoned Ana, demanded a ransom in 2 hours or she will be killed. Fast forward the story, Jack was arrested, Mia was saved & Ana was hospitalized (she was injured rather seriously by Jack who punched her & kicked her abdomen). Though angry at Ana's recklessness and still anxious about fatherhood, Christian realizes how important their baby is to her, and they reconcile. Christian's adoptive mother, Grace, assures Christian that Ana will not leave him. I love how in the movie ended with 2 years later, the happy Grey family were in the garden of their new home with little Theodore. Ana is pregnant with their 2nd child, baby girl Phoebe. Ana & Christian held their son, Theodore's hands & they walked back to their home. Awww...it was heartwarming. I think I teared abit watching this touching scene in the cinema. I couldn't help but picturing myself with my Love R & our future married life together. 😚💕

* One thing that I wanna mention about the 3rd film was I find that it was seemingly made in a rush mode & was the shortest out of the 3 films! 😦 I would think that at least it would be the same length of almost 2 hours. But it was like 100+ mins only. Disappointed. 😑

But I am thankful for the author E.L James for the Fifty Shades books. It helped me to embrace my sexuality & can enjoy more of Self Love without being having to be ashamed of it....& at the right time, it helped me to be open to know & talk about sex more especially after knowing my Love R. 😚💗😘 Will so miss Fifty Shades & especially the actors, Jamie Dornan & Dakota Johnson who brought the lead characters Christian Grey & Anastasia Steele to life! 😉 Thank you author E.L James for the wonderful Fifty Shades journey you brought to the readers & fans! 😊😄

Fifty Shades Darker

Critics had it saying that the FIfty Shades movie is nothing but a porn film but I beg to differ. Actually, the author E.L James added that the readers will sympathize with the tormented Oh so Fucking Hot Christian Grey. There’s a reason for everything, including one’s behaviour. Christian Grey was physically abused as a child by his drug addict mother’s pimp that made him avoid human touch and affection. & his twisted way of pleasure/sex was heavily influenced by his paedophile foster mother’s friend, Elena Lincoln aka Mrs Robinson (Nickname Anastasia gave her. :P) . He was seduced by her & introduced to the world of BDSM at the tender age of 15. He became her submissive for 6 whole years. Oh Gosh! :O & that moulded him the way he became. Really 50 shades of fucked-up as Christian himself puts it.. * Sweat plus faint. :P

So The 2nd novel dealt with Christian Grey’s inner demons, showing several sides of him – the tormented side, the playful side, the controlling side, the vulnerable side, the more human side learning to receive and give love from his love, Anastasia Steele, and of course the sexy side. :D So, he asked Anastasia to come back to him & was willing to re-negotiate terms this time round – no rules, no punishment, no secrets. He was willing to try out a ‘vanilla’ relationship, which In short is a normal kind of relationship. 😊 Anastasia, however, had to deal with more than she bargained for, 50 shades, Christian’s ex sub, Leila & her pervert psycho boss, Jack Hyde. :O Personally draining for her, if you ask me. There’s so much a person can handle. But our protagonist is a strong & brave woman. In the 1st novel, she was innocent, curious virginal college student & was brought into the dark world of BDSM by Mr Adonis Sex God Christian Grey. In the 2nd novel, she grew quite abit, together with Christian. & all these the span of like few weeks. Gosh! So much happened. Only in novels, dramas I reckon. *sweat. :D

Fifty Shades trilogy no doubt is as the author E.L James, her fantasies as she puts it. But she definitely has a vivid imagination, she is able to put together an interesting trilogy story content of love, suspense, humour and adventure. There's not a single dull moment for me as a reader, I simply keep going. :D I especially like the email banters between Anastasia & Christian, I sometimes giggle to myself while reading. :D

I'm in the midst of reading the last book "Fifty Shades Freed" now. I reckon I will experience withdrawal symptoms when i completed the trilogy. Sob! :P

No Running From Me - Toulouse (From Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack)

No Running From Me by Toulouse was played 2 times in the movie - The 1st was when the italian hairstylist, Franco was doing Anastasia's hair & Christian was watching. I find the track with an amusing twist in it in the scene, so darn appropriate. & the other scene was when Ana & Christian were playing pool. :D

Sia - Helium (Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack)

And from the 2nd movie, this is my one of my favourite tracks. Heartfelt singing by Sia. The track was played when Anastasia was walking down the streets alone feeling overwhelmed.

Vaults - One Last Night (From The "Fifty Shades Of Grey" Soundtrack)

Another of my favourite soundtrack from the movie. It was played during the Glider scene. I thought it was purely music & was pleasantly surprised to know that it was an actual track. ;)
