Yokoso Japan...Ichiban trip!

Back from Nihon! It was a real blessed & fruitful + everything all together enjoyable trip! A time of recharging, refreshing & a relaxed break for me, which I desperately needed. Thank God for this trip indeed! :) We went to Hokkaido, Niigata, Tokyo Disneyland & Universal Studios @Osaka, basically rushing for to get on the trains. All sorts of trains, you name it, they have it. I tried skiing @Hokkaido. Real abundant & fluffy snow, real paradise for Skiiers! The best thing was that I got to learn skiing under a oh so-handsome ski instructor, Ross (No, not the one @"Friends". Even better! :P) Hoho! It was really God's will coz initially my bro planned to enrol me for the 10am ski lesson but somehow, we got there around 9.30am & as time was too rushed, coz' I gotta rent the ski attire & ski equipment so in the end, my bro decided to have me go to another ski school, the Australian one - Niseko Int'l Snowsports School. I didn't know @all till I got there, which was 10mins walk away. While waiting, I spent my time @the nearby hotel lobby listening to my Mp3 player. After what seemed like forever, finally it was time.

I was supposed to wait for the Ski Instructor, Ross beside the pink flag near the ski area. The ski boots was darn heavy & bulky, felt like Robocop...if you know what I mean...haha! I was standing there all by myself, carrying the skis, feeling very uncomfortable. Then I didn't know what went with me, I gradually lost balance, while standing...believe it or not! I reckon coz' I was very not used to the ski boots + the skis added up altogether. I gradually fell down, sideways! So embarrassing! I was like Humpy Dumpy stuck on the ground. :O Thank God, a kind instructor lifted a kind hand & asked if I'm alright. I was getting impatient. Still no instructor Ross to be seen.....I fell down a 2nd time! Malu! This time round, nobody offered a hand. I guessed the instructors nearby must think what a goon I was or they thought I was simply sitting down to rest...haha! I used up all my strength with the aid of my skis & managed to stand up. By now, it was way passed the scheduled time. Many instructors were standing nearby, back facing me, chatting away. I took up enough courage & asked who Instructor Ross was. All turned. Another embarrassing moment...Oh man! Ross came up & introduced himself to me....my jaw almost dropped....OMG....he's drop dead gorgeous! Especially with that killer smile, reminded me so much of my favourite WM! I almost fainted. Only my saliva didn't drip...haha!

The next 2 hours was absolute Heaven for me. As it was a one to one lesson, I got to ogle @him all I wanted but was quite shy to do so, dun wanna do it so obviously. His blue eyes was so mesmerizing & that smile....oh gosh! I reckon he was quite uptight @1st but good old me managed to joke around & that broke the ice. The lesson became more enjoyable. :) He was warm, nice & friendly & funny. I managed to chat with him a bit with that 5mins breather. From our brief conversation, I got to know that he's originally from South Africa, he is going uni, this is his vacation job, (& what an interesting one!)he learnt skiing when he was 7. OMG, so young! I reckon most Caucasians look mature for their age, he looked mid-20s to me. :O Oh well! The point is I had the most great ski lesson ever, to remember always! :P The only regret was that I didn't get to take a picture with him. :(

After the lesson, I went straight to join my family to ski. It was a not so good experience @1st. I fell down several times. My bro then took my skis away as I was too dependent on them. After that, I managed to ski more smoothly. But getting off the ski lift, I fell again. So many embarrassing moments for me.....how I wish could find a hole to go in...haha! But overall, it was a real fun experience skiing! I was surprised by myself that I could do it. :) I definitely would love to try again!

After Hokkaido, we proceeded to Niigata, to meet up with my bro's Nihon's friends. Had a good time there as well. One of my bro's friends, guch-san took us sightseeing while the rest went skiing again. We got to savour real Oiishi traditional Nihon food....ate till so full! My stomach full of real good food! I'm so blessed! & after dinner, Karaoke time! :) All of us took turns to sing. My bro crooned Nihon songs, he was good.

We went to Tokyo Disneyland on the 7th day. Me, my mum & the boys only. My bro & sis-in-law went on other places. Too rush the timing, when we reached there, it was already 3pm! It was darn crowded & apparently the whole year round! :O I felt so stressed bringing the boys here & there, walking through the crowd. We managed to get on 2 rides & the evening parade, thats about it! & the fireworks. Didn't fully get to experience the magic of Disney. Oooow! I reckon next time round, I'll go on my own with friends. But with Linus & Lucius around, it was pretty fun too. They brought out the child in me in spectacular Disneyland! :P

The last 2nd day, the whole family in tow got to go Universal Studio together. :) We got ample time as we went around 10am. We had fun. I was especially excited to see my favourite Snoopy! :P Managed to take many pics. Enjoyed the show performance @Waterworld.

& finally Home Sweet Home the next day! I'll definitely visit Nihon again! Ichiban! The Japanese are polite, organized & helpful people. I got to experience the train culture, local flavour in Niigata, & skiing, which I didn't think I would try @all. New experience, new places. Hope to have more opportunities to travel the coming New Year! :D

Young Folks nowadays

Took the boys to watch Barney showcase @Lot 1 Shoppers Mall last Saturday. We waited for quite awhile & the boys especially Linus was getting quite impatient. Lucius was still ok except a bit restless. He was still anticipating to watch the purple Dinosaur. For one thing, this time round, unlike during the Hello Kitty showcase, we weren't allowed to sit & settle down to wait. We gotta stand. Reason: to be more organized. Only kids allowed to go in the sitting area during the performance. Pros & Cons. Pros- Definitely more organized & more space ultilised out. Cons- We gotta bascially stand in queue to wait, with kids on tow, you can imagine- they get restless easily & will start wining & get cranky. :O

The showcase was scheduled to commence 1pm. We joined in the queue @around 12.20pm. After 20mins later, the kids were allowed to go in, finally. @1st Linus was scared to go in alone with Lucius. After accompanying them in & gave a few instructions, Linus got fine with it & impatiently asked me to go. Haha...funny boy.

Ok, the thing I was really unhappy about was the parents! My gosh! I was peeved to see the so-called well-educated young parents nowadays, attitude of theirs...suck big time! :-/ There was this father who was carrying his very young toddler or younger. He asked my mum to move off as he wanted to stand @the spot....what the???? All this was when I was busy settling the boys down. How dare he! A real idiot! I only got this to describe him- an absolute no-brainer! no manners. rude to the bottom. Not only this, I observed that most of the young folks were like so spoiling their children. Very sad to say, its like slaves to them. Auks! I mean there's nothing wrong to dote your children, but not to the extend of spoiling them...pleasssse! What my mum said was right - some people don't have a clue of the difference between Doting & Spoiling. Some kids, mostly very young ones, you could see that they were already very bushed & on the verge of falling asleep, but their parents insisted they watched the show. Crazy! Especially those under 2 year old, they need more sleep. For ages above like Linus & Lucius, their concentration span will be better & they can better understand the whole show & the singing etc. Some younger kids I saw barely a year old, they looked so bored. The adults seemed more excited than them, my mum & I saw this woman dancing along to the music in the midst of the already squeezy space. :O I was speechless. For others, there were the typical 'kiasu' s'poreans. How good is that an example to their kids? I reckon like parents & kids, in future they will be.

After the performance ended, I hurriedly rushed to find the boys. I saw Linus holding Lucius' hands & searching for us. I dunno, I find it very heartwarming & cute. Oooowww! :P Linus actually took the initiative to hold his younger brother's hand. A good elder bro! I praised him & he was so jolly.

My mum asked me dunno I will be like the 'ulu' young parents nowadays anot. I certainly hope not! :O

Getting ready for Nihon, Cooling day

Its an absolutely cooling day today...Alright! :) It basically rained the whole day. 23-28deg, if everyday is as cool as this! I'll be the happiest coz' I'm more tolerance towards low temperature than high. The welcoming showers also once again reminded me of God's promise of showers of Blessings! :P & best of all, a good time for me to pack my lugguge! I didn't perspire as much as compared to a scorching day. It took me around 3 hours to fit everything in. Good thing for the vacuum bags that I bought @Daiso, saved up some space out & I could squeeze in other stuff.

So thank God for a cooling day, public holiday (Hari Raya Haji) long weekend & few days more to fly off to Winterland! :D
