Young Folks nowadays

Took the boys to watch Barney showcase @Lot 1 Shoppers Mall last Saturday. We waited for quite awhile & the boys especially Linus was getting quite impatient. Lucius was still ok except a bit restless. He was still anticipating to watch the purple Dinosaur. For one thing, this time round, unlike during the Hello Kitty showcase, we weren't allowed to sit & settle down to wait. We gotta stand. Reason: to be more organized. Only kids allowed to go in the sitting area during the performance. Pros & Cons. Pros- Definitely more organized & more space ultilised out. Cons- We gotta bascially stand in queue to wait, with kids on tow, you can imagine- they get restless easily & will start wining & get cranky. :O

The showcase was scheduled to commence 1pm. We joined in the queue @around 12.20pm. After 20mins later, the kids were allowed to go in, finally. @1st Linus was scared to go in alone with Lucius. After accompanying them in & gave a few instructions, Linus got fine with it & impatiently asked me to go. Haha...funny boy.

Ok, the thing I was really unhappy about was the parents! My gosh! I was peeved to see the so-called well-educated young parents nowadays, attitude of theirs...suck big time! :-/ There was this father who was carrying his very young toddler or younger. He asked my mum to move off as he wanted to stand @the spot....what the???? All this was when I was busy settling the boys down. How dare he! A real idiot! I only got this to describe him- an absolute no-brainer! no manners. rude to the bottom. Not only this, I observed that most of the young folks were like so spoiling their children. Very sad to say, its like slaves to them. Auks! I mean there's nothing wrong to dote your children, but not to the extend of spoiling them...pleasssse! What my mum said was right - some people don't have a clue of the difference between Doting & Spoiling. Some kids, mostly very young ones, you could see that they were already very bushed & on the verge of falling asleep, but their parents insisted they watched the show. Crazy! Especially those under 2 year old, they need more sleep. For ages above like Linus & Lucius, their concentration span will be better & they can better understand the whole show & the singing etc. Some younger kids I saw barely a year old, they looked so bored. The adults seemed more excited than them, my mum & I saw this woman dancing along to the music in the midst of the already squeezy space. :O I was speechless. For others, there were the typical 'kiasu' s'poreans. How good is that an example to their kids? I reckon like parents & kids, in future they will be.

After the performance ended, I hurriedly rushed to find the boys. I saw Linus holding Lucius' hands & searching for us. I dunno, I find it very heartwarming & cute. Oooowww! :P Linus actually took the initiative to hold his younger brother's hand. A good elder bro! I praised him & he was so jolly.

My mum asked me dunno I will be like the 'ulu' young parents nowadays anot. I certainly hope not! :O
