On Monday, Sindy & I attended a self-defense workshop organized by one of our channel partners- Discovery Channel. Conducted by the 2 presenters of Fight Quest - Jimmy Smith & Doug Anderson. Earlier on, Sindy & I were laughing that their surnames were exactly the same as the 2 Matrix Characters- Mr Anderson (Neo) & Agent Smith. Haha!
For 1.5 hours, we had the most fun, learning self-defense. We were surprised that Mr Anderson & Mr Smith looked smaller-built in person. I reckon they were 'blown up big' on screen. haha! But they were definitely fit & muscular, being trained in martial arts. Can't believe that Mr Anderson @ a young age of 27, is already a Iraq war veteran! Mr Smith seemed comfortable with us all laydees while Mr Anderson took a bit time to warm up. They thought us the practical ways to protect ourselves. I was very 'honored' to be 'chosen' to do the 1st demo! Mr Smith was looking @our side after he finished the 1st demo & were aiming @us. Smart Sindy acted blur & looked away while I blur like sotong, very 'naturally dreaming away'. I didn't think he would pick me. Then before I knew it, I heard him say, " You, with the red shirt!" OMG. hahaha! So I was like dunno what was going on & blur blur went out. Gosh! Sindy was having a good time laughing @me afterwards.
The last move, we gotta be in this this very awkward position or should I say its the 'rape' position. We were supposed to 'practise' on our partners & mine was no doubt Little Miss Giggles herself, Sindy. :P So I took the opportunity to fully put what I learnt to use- Sindy is supposed to be my 'attacker', she tried to strangle me & I moved my hips up & crossed my legs over her neck & she literally felt the impact. :O Initially we were worried that we would sprain ourselves but in the end, it turned out alright! :P
Mr Anderson also came to help us along. He asked me to hold his hand...boy were it hairy...hahahah...oops! I reckon all 'potatoes' are this hairy...hahah! Hairy chest, hairy legs. hairy hands, hairy everywhere. OMG. LOL.
After the session, we were given time for autographs signing & photo taking with the 2 guys.
Overall, I had the most fun! :)
