Revival of Nihon Cinema!

This must be the year whereby the most number of Japanese movies are released in the local theatres! To date, so far I've watched 3 Japanese movies - K-20, Suspect-X & Departures. K-20, I'll give 6 stars out of 10. A passing rate for entertainment. & most gals will drool over Mr Takeshi K Haha! The story plot was kinda like Robin Hood wannabe. Interesting @1st but towards the end, it got so draggy! Ooowww! I was literally dozing off. I find that many movies tend to be like this, is it to stall time, I wonder? Suspect X was much, much better. For one thing, I've followed through the drama series. & secondly, Fukuyama Masaharu! :D & Kou Shibasaki of course. Both my favourite Japanese actors. However, I find the spotlight kinda was taken away by the outstanding acting of Shinichi Tsutsumi, as the aloof Math Genius. I was hoping to see more sparks between FM & KS character but in vain. :( Overall, 7 stars out 10. :)
The best has got to be the most recent one that I watched "Departures". Oscar winning foreign film & they truly deserved to win! Very meaningful & inspirational with the taboo topic of death, wakes & funerals. However, after watching this beautiful movie, your opinion will definitely change, I know I did! :) I never know that Death can be so beautifully portrayed. It signifies that the passing on of a person is not the end. Its the beginning. :) Kudos to the revival of Nihon Cinema!
