Original Comic Version of Tamra, The Island.

Watched this adapted from comic korean drama on E-city out of curiosity. My initial 'target' for watching is believe it or not, the supposingly English explorer, William (played by French Model, Pierre Deporte) Coz erhem, you see, I have a thingy for 'ang mohs' or 'patata' (potato in italian) as I like to put it. But mind you, I'm certainly not a SPG (Sarong Party Girl). For one thing, I don't wear Sarongs....LOL! :P I just like the way how Patate look & admire them. :) Ok, back to the topic. The initial curiosity led me hooked on the drama! I'm drawn to the interesting storyline with love, adventure & humour all tightly squeezed in one. & later on, I'm totally infatuated with the male lead character,Nobleman Park Kyu instead! (played by Im Ju Hwan)He appeared aloof & proud @1st but deep inside, he has such depth in him, with warmth in his heart. 他是个有情有义的男子汉。文武双全。高大,有男子气概的英雄。好man哦! :P 我喜欢他总是默默守护着Beo Jin (played by sweet Seo Woo). There's this particular scene which Beo Jin wanted to bid farewell to Park Kyu but he didn't want to face a tearful goodbye so he stayed & hid in the room. When the truth is, he was full of sorrow to see Beo Jin leaving with William & he cried so sadly that it was heartbreaking. :'( Im Ju Hwan portrayed Park Kyu very well & brought out the different sides of the nobleman with ease. Because of the nobleman attire, I can see Im Ju Hwan's features clearly. He has this very nice seemingly perfect features that it was such a joy watching him. :P He looks cool when he's serious but when he smiles, OMG, he looks absolutely charming & brighten my day entirely. :D Standing @a towering height @1.86m, gosh! ( I realise I seem to have a thingy for guys with this height - Robbie Williams, Daniel Wu, Daniel Henney & my favourite Wentworth Miller. :P I wonder will my future husband be this tall also. LOL) Tall & lanky. I like. :P But he's too skinny though weighing 68kg! :O I reckon many male korean celebrities are skinny coz it appeals to the female fans. As the image they portray are seemingly more gentle then the more hunky ones.

The Love Triangle between Beo Jin, William & Park Kyu is something I wanna talk about. Beo Jin, I find represents many of us who are dissatisfied with their present lives including me. So a handsome foreigner stranger who got shipwrecked & appeared into Beo Jin's life & captured her interest. She was able to escape to another world with William (He represents a dream) & she comfortably seeks solace in him. Whereas with the Nobleman, Park Kyu, it wasn't a pleasant encounter @1st & both didn't have good impressions for each other. But as always most stories go, they later developed affections for each other after Park Kyu needed to stay @Beo Jin's place (unwillingly). William, being a 'patata' is naturally more expressive with his feelings & he clearly shown it towards Beo Jin right from the start. But with Park Kyu, represents of most Asian men, hid his feelings & because of that, he & Beo Jin 一直在搞着暧昧关系。像Rainie 的歌“暧昧“里的歌词-暧昧让人受委屈....If both especially Park Kyu could be more expressive in his feelings towards Beo Jin, they wouldn't need to suffer so much. It was only towards the end, when Beo Jin thought Park Kyu is dead, she confessed her love for him. The part where Beo Jin dived in to save him, soooo touching! 影像很美。So my conclusion is - the love Beo Jin has for William is the Love of a Friend. 友情的爱。But with Park Kyu, its the Love of a Lover. 爱情的爱. When the thought of losing him, your heart dropped & you feel the whole world crushing in to you in an instant. Ultimate sorrow & sadness. The thought of losing someone you love.

I simply love the humour in Tamra, The Island. Helps me to unwind & de-stress totally. :) Two of the classic funniest part - When Beo Jin asked William his name in korean & introduced herself "Beo Jin", William totally clueless & thought he heard her saying "Virgin" & asked her if she wanted to tell her she's a virgin. He replied "Me too". Beo Jin thought "Me too" was his name. Haha! Hilarious. & the other classic part - Park Kyu found out that Beo Jin was helping to hide William & his friend, Yan inside a cave. Beo Jin told the guys that Park Kyu is not a bad person & tried to introduced them to each other. When William heard Park Kyu's name, he was very surprised & seemingly abit shocked. He was doubtful & asked Park Kyu "Fuck You?Fuck You? ("Park Kyu" sounds like "Fuck You") You sure thats your name? Funny! Haha! I couldn't stop laughing.

I thoroughly enjoyed this ride of adventure & love in Tamra, The Island! :D
