Gone Too Soon

Sad day today....one of my favourite korean actors, Park Yong Ha died @age 33! :'( I was so shocked when Cindy called me in the morning to break the news to me. I was like, what???? I just read from My Paper that he is scheduled to act in a new drama with Ee En Hui (of 'Goong' fame) & I'm so looking forward to watch it after his last drama "On Air". & now you come to tell me that he's gone....forever!....too soon....like MJ. sob sob! Apparently, he committed suicide, using a h/phone charger to strangle himself. :( After massaging for his ailing cancer-stricken father, he kept saying "I'm sorry" & then went to his room & never came out again. His mother found him dead @5.30am. Maybe he's had depression or he can't bear to see the pain of his ailing father. Whatever reason it is, for him to be so determined to die, he must feeling extremely helpless & hopeless. God bless his soul. R.I.P! Sa Rang Heyo, Oppa Park!

It was also one of my favourite singers, the King of Pop, MJ's 1st death anniversary. Gosh, he has actually been gone for a year, how fast! :O Fans all over the world including myself miss him so much! his music, his legacy, his love & his spirit will live on. One thing comforting to know is that he's @a better place now, away from the paparazzi, forever happily Moonwalking away. :)

The Thinker

I can really relate to this famous sculpture. Since when I was growing up, I already find myself a thinker, perhaps sometimes thinking too much though, haha! I like to analyse things, collect & sort out my thoughts. I especially thrive in peaceful & serene environments where my thoughts are able to straighten out. Thats why I enjoy bus rides especially in bus service 190. The high-way journey is especially a thereputic one. I would be immersed & lost in my own thoughts while looking out of the bus window. I would also enjoy going to the stadium to jog during weekend mornings. I would always have my mp3 player on while thinking about the week's events & happenings & analysing them.
We all need to think & do some reflection thoughts in our lives now & then. Healing. :)

If I Were A Boy - Beyonce

Interesting music video reflecting Beyonce's hit. In the video, Beyonce switched roles with her boyfriend & became a guy. She sings about how it would be like being of the opposite sex. I thought about it too recently, especially hearing about different relationships. Hmnnn...I think If I Were A Boy, I would be probably be someone who cannot be tied down in a relationship, require lotsa freedom from my partner. Clingy girlfriends are certainly a 'NO NO' for me. Maybe I would end up being a playboy...gosh...haha! Coz I realize some women are so gullible & easy targets for the 'Players'. So thats why women have to be smart & protect themselves & don't let these 'Players' have the chance to come near them. 姐姐妹妹站起来! Sistas Unite!

How about you? How would you be like if You Were A Boy?

Took my monthly break from work last Friday & chilled out with Annie. Always nice to hang out with my buddies. :) We met up @Tanjong Pagar MRT & then she took me to this nice authentic korean restaurant nearby her workplace for dinner. The price was reasonable, inclusive plates of korean appetizers & fruits. The beef hot plate that I ordered was huge portion! Annie ordered beef stew soup, yummy also.
After having our stomachs filled, we proceeded to Scarlett Hotel for drinks. It was really nice ambience inside the bar. serene & peaceful. We went to the rooftop, nice but hot coz no air-con though there were fans. Coz I'm totally intolerant to heat! :O
We chatted while enjoying our drinks & not forgetting taking snapshots of each other. Next time, we'll explore another nearby bar. :P

Movie Reviews

Been watching a few movies premiere- Prince of Persia & the latest Toy Story 3, Knight & Day.

Prince of Persia was based on a video game with the same name. My buddy, Shida heard before & said that the lead character is tall, tanned, muscular & good-looking. When we both learnt that it was Jake Gyllenhaal playing the lead, we practically just rolled our eyes. I mean with a surname like that....Jake...what the Hell....oops! I completely don't comprehend why on earth he is able to act in the 1st place, with that goofy look. He & his sister, Maggie both have that kind of look - same product of a family. Later on, I would have learn that both of them have a certain director as their daddy oh. No wonder explains the smooth path to stardom, regardless they can act or not. Ok, back to the movie. Mr Jake WTH in my point of view, tried too hard to be ultra charming & cool like a suave hero, but didn't quite succeed though as what I see. Well, other die-hard fans will certainly disagree. However, I like the lead actress, Gemma Arteton who acts as the princess, simply lovely & exotic! She's recently remembered for a Goddess role in Clash of the Titans. She really has that kind of ancient beautiness & aura in her. Classic English Beauty. I didn't know that she's a Bond Girl too. Hope to see more of her. :) 3 out of 5 popcorns. For peerly entertainment & special effects, nothing else.

Toy Story 3 is the final goodbye. Its about moving on & letting go. Woody's owner, Andy is all grown up & preparing to head off for college, leaving Woody & the rest of the loyal toys pondering about their uncertain futures. Whilst clearing his stuff, the toys accidentally taken to Sunnyside Daycare. @1st, everything was seemingly bright & 'sunny' as the leader of the toys - a chubby pink bear by the name of Lotso gave a warm welcome. But soon after, they realized that it was living hell for them. They were placed in the room for untamed toddlers - they were squashed & thrown about. Woody decided to rescue his friends. He & his friends in the midst were nearly became 'recycled' products. Two very interesting new characters were added in the movie - Barbie & Ken. Ken is a meteosexual who's all obsessed with himself & Barbie is all sweet, girly & 'doll-like' like the way she does. Both of them falling in love with each other. The funniest part was when Barbie asked Ken to model for her some of his outfits. Absolutely hilarious! Buzz Lightyear is also darn funny, he was accidentally programmed in Spanish Mode & he gets all romantic towards Jessie, the cowgirl. Us watching inside the cinema all roared with laughter! :D I laughed so hard till tears rolling down. There were touching moments too - Andy gave Woody & his other toys to a cute little girl named Bonnie. After entrusting her to care for the toys, he left. I shed a tear watching this scene. 4 our of 5 popcorns - Good storyline, humourous & touching.
Finally, Knight & Day. Three words to describe it - A Delightful Surprise! Was curious to watch this movie coz of the fresh & new combo of the duo - Tom Cruise & Cameron Diaz. I was surprised @their chemistry, which @1st I thought would be lacking of. Throughout the whole movie, its like a rollercoaster ride, with no boring moment, story moved on fast from one place to another place. & whilst making it believable that @such a short time, for the two lead characters, Roy Miller & June Havens (played by Cruise & Diaz) to fall in love. Cameron Diaz has such a fabulous figure! A tall, sporty & leggy beauty. I can't believe that she did all her own stunts! Cool! Well, she's an avid surfer so I guess she's game for anything. Brave & cool girl! Hmnnn...I would give 3.5 out of 5 popcorns - Good entertainment, exciting ride with the Diaz & Cruise. :P

An 'Eventful' Day

Lucius excitedly preparing to cut his cake & Linus helping out.

Lighting the candles & singing b-day song for Lucius.

Yummy Awfully Chocolate Cake!

The boys enjoying the racing car set that their mama bought for Lucius' b-day pressie.
Last Wednesday was Lucius' birthday. The Saturday before, I took him to Kiddy Palace to choose his own pressie. I asked him to choose toys that he don't have @home. He then point to a whole set of toys & said,"All these our house don't have!" I rolled my eyes. haha! Kids are really innocent. In the end, he chose a Hot Wheels set. I asked him to choose for his bro as well. Joan bought a yummlicious chocoolate cake from Awfully Chocolate. Lucius was so excited. Before that, he celebrated with his classmates @school with a huge Jerry cake. Kids nowadays are so blesssed.
It was also Dumpling Festival 端午节 that day. Few days in a row, I brought bazhang to office for lunch. My mum made some & Cindy's mum gave me some, both delicious!
It rained cats & dogs since morning, it was such a heavy downpour that Orchard Road in a few hours became Orchard River! :O Water everywhere! I shocked to hear the announcement on radio & more shocked to see the photos online. Good thing I wasn't anywhere near there. Many businesses were affected & had to close down to clean up the mess & renovation till further notice. News reported that would need @least 4 to 6 weeks for business to be back to normal again.
What An 'Eventful' Day!
