Recently I read this email forwarded to me by one of my friends. Very interesting. Its about one of the richest men around, Warren Buffet. I'm amazed that although he is extremely wealthy, he does not own & drive fancy car & does not live in big houses. His life is just so simple & humble. He just live by everything of what he needs. If only all of us can be like that. Coz' these days, everything is about status & position, fame & fortune, that most people forgot what its like to appreciate the simple things in life.
Here are some of some interesting facts of Mr Buffet that I read in the email & lessons we can learn from him:
1) He still lives in the same small 3-bedroom house in mid-town Omaha, that he bought after he got married 50 years ago. He has everything he needs in it. His house does not have a wall or a fence. (Don't buy more than what you really need)
2) He drives his own car everywhere & does not have a chauffeur or security people around him. (You are what you are!)
3) He never travels by private jet, although he owns the world's largest private jet company. (Always think how you can accomplish things economically)
4) He does not socialize with the high society crowd. His past-time after he gets home is to make himself some pop corn & watch TV. (Don't try to show off, just be yourself & do what you enjoy doing.)
5) He does not carry a cell-phone, nor has a computer on his desk.
-Don't follow brands, just wear those things in which you feel comfortable.
-Don't waste your money on unnecessary things; Rather just spend on those things you really need. After all, its your life so why allow others to rule your life?
*The happiest people do not necessarily have the "BEST" Things. They simple APPRECIATE the things they have!
How true! Warren Buffet is super rich but yet he lives a humble life. Compared to a certain royality figure whom I saw in this particular documentary who lives an ultra lavish life- He owns a huge number of sports cars! I mean, does he really need so much? Or is it just to show his status? I find it a total extravagance.(奢侈) I reckon its because he was born a silver spoon whereas Buffet Warren worked his way up, started from scratch. I guess its when we had been through trials & tribulations, hardships in life, then can we appreciate life, in its simplicity.
