Katy Perry - Firework

I'm not really into Katy Perry's songs, I find she's heavily packaged like into a huge pinkish, girly bubblegum pop, with all the colourful 50's inspired image, created a rather self attitude (something like of Avril Lavigne) & costumes. I read in an article somewhere that apparently, she started out crooning gospel songs but her gospel album didn't quite make it, didn't quite sell. So she switched to mainstream & pop music & presto! with a sexy image...& THAT sells. So I reckon two words - Sex Sells. :O. I don't particularly find her songs like "California Girls" & "Teenage Dreams" appealing but somehow, I like this particular song alot. The melody is very uplifting & cheery & the lyrics are with very positive notes. For this song, well done Ms Perry! :D I hope she sings more of these kinds of encouraging songs. ;)
