Yesterday was Singapore General Election Day. My LL & I cast our Holy votes @the Polling Station in the morning. Normally, I'm in a 'heck-care' mentality during Election for the past years but this year, it got so exciting & more S'poreans than usual participated & involved in one way or the other. This year being different because of the imergence of more good opposition parties, which is a good sight. & a new generation of political change has come. Our voices need to be heard & thats where the opposition parties can speak on our behalf.
今年的大选特别有看头-工人党拿下了六个国会席，历史以来最多的一次! They won in SMC Hougang & GRC Aljunied. When news of Worker's Party was announced, the uncles @ the Kopi Thiam opposite my block cheered so loud, like as if watching a soccer match &their favourite soccer team scored a goal! LOL.
I'm proud of my fellow Singaporeans who voted for change & I'm one of them! :)
But like many S'poreans, we are sad to see Mr Chiam See Tong leave. Hope he has more time to rest now also. There's this particular sentence that he spoke recently @the Rally, very meaningful, really speaks to my heart:
"When there is life there is hope, when there is hope there will be change"
Indeed Change has come.
