The Beijing Olympic Games finally kick-started yesterday, after all the Hoo-Has. The opening ceremony was absolutely awesome & spectacular! The most breath-taking bit had gotta be the torch lighting part, talking about saving the best for the last! :D After years of preparation, I reckon all these are really worth it for the Chinese people.
I remembered 8 years ago, I had the chance to go to the Chinese Capital with my mum, aunt & uncle. That year was the Sydney Olympics. I remembered watching the Games in the hotel room. Little did I know that 8 years later, The Olympics would be held in the very same place! Now that I looked back, I just find it amazing. For this year's Games, I'm definitely looking out for my favourite sports segment- Diving! I'm always a huge fan of the Chinese Team coz' they absolutely shine in this sport. I'm gonna just glued myself to the TV this weekend, haha!
Coincidentally, a day after the opening of the Beijing Olympics Games, its our Nation Singapore's 43rd birthday. How time passes, year by year. 2 years back, my bro got the tics to the National Day Parade, to be held last time @the National Stadium. I went with my family, big & small plus my bro's pals & their families as well. I enjoyed myself thoroughly & I must say it was a really good experience to watch the Parade LIVE. In our lifetime, we should watch @least once. However, that would be my only time. Coz' after the whole event ended, thats where the nightmare began! Imagine thousands of people leaving @the same time, massive human traffic jam...& I mean, really JAM! It reminded me of how Moses led the Israelis out of Eygpt, yes! Exactly like Exodus! It was really hot & depressing to be stuck in the Exodus. I remembered poor Linus was getting all cranked up & tired becoz' of that. My brother gotta carried him all the way. I think it took us more than an hour to finally get out to the open! Gosh! It was unforgetable experience.
Well, Happy National Day to all fellow Singaporeans! & Happy Viewing of the Olympics to all!
