Back from Macau! :) It was a restful, fun, harvestful & blessed trip- eating, shopping & walking, with my two travelling companions- Ivy & Bernard. So much fun together with them, especially Bernard who kept cracking jokes, kept us well-entertained indeed :D I really got to dress up & dolled up this time round, all thanks to Ivy. Previously, I didn't have this special treatment before. Hehe! Thoughtful Ivy even had facial masks prepared for us to put on every night. Spa treatment indeed. :P
Took many nice & lovely photos, so happy! :D The buildings @Macau are really nice & colourful, with Portugal influence as it was previously a Portugal colony. You have also the old, historial Oriental buildings there & that makes Macau a unique place with East meets West. Good thing Ivy asked me to bring more colourful clothes & they made me really blended well with the equally colourful buildings. :) The food there is also unique- there is local Macau food & the famous Portugese food. Ivy & Bernard brought me to eat the famous Da Tang Portugal Fried Chicken(大堂炸鸡)....ooooo....it was so yummy! Crispy, big portion & freshly tender!
However @the final day, came an unforeseen circumstance- our 2.30am flight was cancelled due to bad weather- heavy fog! All the passengers including us were utterly shocked! Ivy & I thought we heard wrongly when we heard the announcement which came very late. Being cancelled was one thing, what made us angry was Jetstar's 'bo chap' attitude! We were told that there are no arrangements made! It was like they just left us to by ourselves. :-/ In the end, after much angry & serious complaining, the airline finally conceded to our requests- they will book the next flight available for us, @Hong Kong as all flights to Macau are cancelled. Which means we need to go to Hong Kong by Ferry, which means we had to fork out extra cash. :-( can't be helped. The next 18 hours was a hectic one, the 3 of us joked that its like we were in Amazing Race, haha! We needed to take different modes of transport- from ferry to cab to aeroplane. A normally 45mins ferry journey took us nearly two hours to reach Hong Kong, that was how bad the fog was, visibility was extremely low & really bad. So due to forced circumstance, we arrived @Hong Kong for 12 hour stay. We had to check in to a hotel to get some much needed rest as the day before, we didn't hardly snooze @all. As expected & feedback by others, the hotel rate there was really expensive- the cheapest hotel we got was SGD200 per night! Gosh! Being pricey is one thing, the other thing was that it was really small & cramped! :-S But the plus thing was it was quite comfy, clean & new, a touch of contemporary style. We managed to shop awhile @the famous Pearl of the Orient (东方之珠). Thank God we finally got up the 8pm flight. God's blessing, we got to sit the 2nd row @no extra charges as normally it would costs an extra $30 per seat. & becoz we were @the 2nd row, we got to eat the famous Hainanese Chicken Rice that so many people feedbacked that it was good. & indeed surprisely, it was real yummy! though it cost a bomb (SGD10), it was worth & once in awhile, it was alright. So overall, it was a blessing in disguise. What matters is that we are all back safe & sound. Home Sweet Home!
