Long Weekend, SATC & Shopping!

Simply delicious Grilled chicken with Pasta & Fish Chowder! :P

Dinner @Greenhouse cafe. But this time round, all the swing seats were taken, so we settled for the 'normal' seats.

Pretty Bella, Annie.

@Kinokuniya.

My hair clipped up, taught by My personal hairstylist, Auntie Baozhen. Annie took this for me when we were waiting to cross the road. :P
Had Happy & restful Vesak Day long weekend + Family Day early release last Thursday...cool! :D Met up with my movie buddy, Annie-san on Saturday to watch Sex & The City 2. Initially we wanted to watch Ghost Writer starring Pierce Bronson &my favourite Ewon Mcgreggor. But the timings were so limited so in the end, we caught SATC2 indeed, which was a good choice! I wasn't really keen @1st but I'm glad I watched it,coz it was so funny! :D Especially the one who provided most of the comic relief, the flirtatious Samantha, simply hilarious! Love their clothes, shoes. Love the movie for the fashion, the beautiful getaway @Abu Dhabi (which was filmed @Morocco for the movie). It was truly a ride with the four ladies of style, tackling issues like menopause(Samantha), marriage (Carrie), motherhood (Charlotte) & work-life balance (Miranda). If I can choose to be 1 of the SATC ladies, I would choose Carrie. Coz i like to write! & she's a writer. :) But I definitely won't settle for someone like Mr Big though, coz I find he's boring. :-S. I prefer her ex-boyfriend, Aden (who appeared for a while in the movie) :)
Overall, I guess SATC is about being woman...like the song they sang "I Am Woman". :) Many roles of a woman-daughter, wife, mother, best friend. Celebrate womanhood.

Lucius happily eating the Nutella Cake

Birthday Girl Joan & Lucius busying putting the candles

Lucius happily putting the candles for his Mama's cake.

Nutella Cake from Royal Cakes.
I find it expensive for 1kg cake - $45! :O More expensive than Four Leaves! & quality-wise, not that outstanding as I expected.
The Nutella Cake is similiar to Coco Exotic from Four Leaves, which created this cake much earlier than Royal Cakes. Hmnnn...for one thing Coco Exotic still taste the best after so many years, I'm still a fan! :) Quality consistent. For 1 small cake-$26, maybe 0.5kg?

Bouquet of flowers from Joan's friend.

Joan thought this bouquet of flowers was from my bro which disappointing wasn't. I told her my bro not so romantic, she laughed.Haha! How true. Most asian men aren't, anyway. :O Being romantic should come from the heart, not something artificial, my view.

'Gold' From the sky

Got up early in the morning to go stadium to jog. Thank God managed to wake up. I deliberately turned in rather early around 9.30pm yesterday as to make sure I would have sufficient sleep, so there would be no excuse of 'I couldn't get up because lack of sleep, tired.' It was a good move. :) My subconscious mind was literally was sending signals to my brain not to be fully & dead asleep so that I would not oversleep. Before my alarm sounded @5.55am, I was already awake & feeling alert, ready & looking forward for my jog :P

I reached the stadium around 6.30am & started to jog a few rounds & then walked awhile to cool down. Suddenly, I felt something warm & liquid on my right arm....Shit!.....It was Bird Shit...Poo Poo, 'Fresh' from the sky! :-O I was in a state of horror & disgust & my 1st reaction was to sweep away the raw poo on my arm. Thank God the sun was not out yet & I reckon anybody noticed...if there was, just a few, I hoped. I tried not to over-react & could still walk naturally to the washroom to clean the 'mess'. I was amazed of my calmness could just laugh it off afterwards. Haha! I was thinking, "Oh well, I guess its normal for things like these to happen. Mummy told me she also 'kena' before. I managed to wash up quickly in the washroom & continued with my jogging, but was feeling rather paranoid & kept looking up @the flying sparrows. I was thinking that particular sparrow must be feeling so 'urgent' that it couldn't make it in time to the 'toilet' (on the trees, my thought)that it literally just decided to 'release on mid-air' & on me! Hahahaha! Then I became the 'unknowing victim'. :-S For so many years jogging @the same venue, I have never experienced this before...man, it must be my lucky day...something good must be happening or on its way to me. :P Maybe I should go buy Toto/4D. (Coz the chinese believed that poo poo is Gold=Wealth.) But dunno what number to buy. Annie suggested that I can buy 0921, my birth date. But no urge to wanna go & buy...oh well. 没有冲动要去买.

From this, I realized that there're things in life that are unavoidable, be it good or bad. Good things of course, we'll embrace them with open arms. But for bad things, @1st we'll surely feel very lousy, but believe that all things work together for our own good, for a purpose. Bad situations are able to turn around for our favor. & bad things, definitely & certainly are only temporary. This is what I believe. :-)

Double Celebration

Last Sunday 16th May was both my mum's & Ivy's hubby, Bernard's (aka Mr Dao You=tour guide :P)Birthday. So I met with my two buddies last Thursday to have an early celebration. I bought Bernard a key pouch, chosen with the help his wifey. :) Glad he liked it. The new set meal @Delifrance was good. However, I especially enjoyed the dessert- Banana Crumble...it was absolutely delicious. With vanilla ice-cream....ooooooowwww...Heaven! :D

Sunday itself, I bought my 'Landlord' (my mother) a cake from Four Leaves. Ok Now, this is what I addressed my mother-Landlord. 房东太太. Let me explain why I nicknamed my mother that. Coz I realized even as I grow up, having much personal space is deemed rather impossible @home...or should I say my mother's house. There're rules & regulations to follow. I slowly find that as if I'm the tenant & she's the Landlord. & I must abide to the rules that she set. I'm just the tenant who gives her monthly rental $$$ to occupy a pathetic room. :-S How sad can that be. Now I can fully understand why so many grown-up single adults like me, yearning to have own place of our own. Some or should I say quite a considerable number of people because of this reason, 'escaped' thru their parents' homes thru marriage, thinking that its the best way to get a place of their own, which sometimes ended up in somehow, badly.
Ok, back to the celebration. I bought a cake for my 'Landlord'. & we had family dinner, went to Bukit Panjang Plaza. The food was average. Was thinking to go Ichiban Sushi but was way too crowded so in the end settled in another Japanese Restaurant. & after that, cake cutting & birthday song singing back @our place. The boys as usual were excited & they mischieviously tried to blow out the candles when I just lighted them. Boys. :O
"Landlord" looked contented of her birthday celebration coz poor her, she could only eat selective food recently coz of the discomfort inside her mouth gums. Hope she'll be well soon.
