Came across this new drama series "Flash Forward". @1st glance, it sort of reminds me resemblance from "Heroes" so I didn't really take notice & bother to watch. I thought its just another new drama, didn't find it that appealing & interesting. However, I was just channel surfing one fine Monday night (Channel 5 is showing on Monday nights) & I watched the episode out of curiosity, wondering what the hype of this drama was. It was an interesting episode. One of the characters, Bryce in his flash forward, saw himself with a Japanese girl in a sushi bar restaurant. They felt so much love for each other , as if destiny brought them together. It gave him new meaning to live for as before that, he had lost all hope & was planning to end his life after being diagnosed with cancer. Soon, he decided to travel to Japan to seek for the girl who was meant for him. However, its like Heaven playing a trick on them, they missed each other. Keiko who also saw the same flash forward was on the way to America to look for him too! :O Will they find each other? The answer is still unknown. Haha! Thats why I am staying tuned weekly to find out. :P
So from there, sparked my interest in the show. I decided to watch it from the beginning. This series is adapted from award-winning author, Robert J.Sawyer revolutionary novel. Story: A global mysterious event causes everyone to blackout simultaneously for 2 minutes 17 seconds & each person sees a glimpse of their lives 6 months from now. The main character, FBI Agent Mark Benford (played by one of my favourite actors, the versatile Joseph Fiennes) has been called to uncover the cause of this Global Flash Forward & the person behind it.
The show appealing factor is that it invites you to embark on a journey to answer the question: "If you know what your future held, what would you do?"
For me, if its something bad, I'll try to avoid it, changing history. But if its something good, I'll hope it will come to pass soon! :D
