I was watching one of the old Hong Kong TVB dramas starring Adam Cheng 楚留香 yesterday with my mum. Classic! It must had @least been 20years ago, & watching the then young & fresh faces of the thespians including Adam Cheng was oh was entertaining. Heehee! My mum & I were like commenting how young they looked back & 岁月不留人= Time waits for no-one. The spots of aged-ness becomes apparent as time passes on.
I was sighing that shows/productions in the past seems to have more quality, compared to the ones now. Back then, more focus on the acting of the thespians whereas now, all thanks to the paparazzi aka 狗仔队, everything changes. More attention is being drawn to the personal lives of the starlets, especially the young & with rising popularity ones. The stories/ scripts don't seem to be that outstanding, 逊色许多. Lacking of substance. Things/ Humans without substance appear to be 浮浅, narrow-minded. Many Things nowadays are forgetable, even marriages/relationships are short-lived. My observation is that could it be the high-speed technology transform us to be this way? People in the past, especially in the Renaissance period, seemed to be more creative. The wonderful & amazing paintings on church walls, sculptures like the famous King David in Italy. & not forgetting the classical musician with their great masterpieces - Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, Tchaikovsky etc. Those are the things that have lasted till now & will continue to do so. Things with substance.
What the future new world holds, I wonder. I hope I will live to see & witness.
