Ivy & I were chilling out @Starbuck Coffee Cafe recently to rest our legs after our shopping, when she saw this couple seated nearby. The pregnant wife got up to & fro to buy the drinks. Later on, when I was back from the washroom, Ivy told me about it & was pissed off by the man's ungentlemanly behaviour, that he actually let his heavily pregnant wife to walk to & fro to get the drinks, rather than offering to go instead. Ivy annoyingly asked me "What's wrong with the men here????". I replied, "Thats a very good question". Well, for one thing, local men are not known to be gentlemen here. Not to say that none exists, I'm sure there are a few or some, I'm pretty sure but just not known, sadly. :-S My observation is that local men or should I say most Asian men were not brought up to treat members of the opposite sex with care or to take care of them. So when they grow up, they do not particularly know how to treat a lady. Totally Handicapped in this area. :-O As compared to many Western countries, the men always have the "Ladies First" kind of attitude in them, a habit they have grown up with, so it comes natural to them.
I told Ivy that @least her hubby, Bernard is one exceptional case, which she agrees :) Even Bernard himself as a man, expressed annoyance the ungentlemanly attitude of most local men.
