I was watching one of the old Hong Kong TVB dramas starring Adam Cheng 楚留香 yesterday with my mum. Classic! It must had @least been 20years ago, & watching the then young & fresh faces of the thespians including Adam Cheng was oh was entertaining. Heehee! My mum & I were like commenting how young they looked back & 岁月不留人= Time waits for no-one. The spots of aged-ness becomes apparent as time passes on.
I was sighing that shows/productions in the past seems to have more quality, compared to the ones now. Back then, more focus on the acting of the thespians whereas now, all thanks to the paparazzi aka 狗仔队, everything changes. More attention is being drawn to the personal lives of the starlets, especially the young & with rising popularity ones. The stories/ scripts don't seem to be that outstanding, 逊色许多. Lacking of substance. Things/ Humans without substance appear to be 浮浅, narrow-minded. Many Things nowadays are forgetable, even marriages/relationships are short-lived. My observation is that could it be the high-speed technology transform us to be this way? People in the past, especially in the Renaissance period, seemed to be more creative. The wonderful & amazing paintings on church walls, sculptures like the famous King David in Italy. & not forgetting the classical musician with their great masterpieces - Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, Tchaikovsky etc. Those are the things that have lasted till now & will continue to do so. Things with substance.
What the future new world holds, I wonder. I hope I will live to see & witness.

Super Duper Love
Had dinner @my bro's place as usual yesterday. Joan asked me to help her buy a bar of Nutella cake from Royal Cakes @Lot 1, coz the kiddos are craving for it. The boys were happy to see their cake when I showed it to them. I was curious wanting to have a taste of it too. :P So after dinner shortly, Joan asked me to help myself with the cake 1st as she still needed to tutor Linus in his school work. I got myself & Lucius a piece each. I decided to feed him coz he was so engrossed playing with his toys. Lucius was happy being fed by me & after a few mouthful of the delicious & creamy Nutella cake, he suddenly said," Lucius super duper loves Gu Gu." (Aunt in chinese, which is me. :P) So sweet of him! I was surprised & touched. In return, I too told him,"Gu Gu also super duper loves Lucius!" :D
A simple gesture & sentence but truly warmed my heart after a tiring day @work. :)
Through this, it got me thinking that kids are truly expressive & angels sent by God. They are honest with their feelings & they don't try to hide. They are not hypocritical like some adults. When they like you, they will show it either by words or by their gestures/ actions. They would wanna come closer to you & enjoy talking to you, enjoying your companionship. Its sad that after when we grow, things change & it seems the adult world is a whole lot complicated. :-S
Another thought which set me thinking is that - SUper Duper Love. Gosh, thats really an interesting way to put & describe. Super Dupe Love= really, really, really love. In plain words= to love very much. Haha! It reminds of how God's Love for us - Big & Great Love.
Super Duper Love - I like the sound of that. :P

Flash Forward

Came across this new drama series "Flash Forward". @1st glance, it sort of reminds me resemblance from "Heroes" so I didn't really take notice & bother to watch. I thought its just another new drama, didn't find it that appealing & interesting. However, I was just channel surfing one fine Monday night (Channel 5 is showing on Monday nights) & I watched the episode out of curiosity, wondering what the hype of this drama was. It was an interesting episode. One of the characters, Bryce in his flash forward, saw himself with a Japanese girl in a sushi bar restaurant. They felt so much love for each other , as if destiny brought them together. It gave him new meaning to live for as before that, he had lost all hope & was planning to end his life after being diagnosed with cancer. Soon, he decided to travel to Japan to seek for the girl who was meant for him. However, its like Heaven playing a trick on them, they missed each other. Keiko who also saw the same flash forward was on the way to America to look for him too! :O Will they find each other? The answer is still unknown. Haha! Thats why I am staying tuned weekly to find out. :P
So from there, sparked my interest in the show. I decided to watch it from the beginning. This series is adapted from award-winning author, Robert J.Sawyer revolutionary novel. Story: A global mysterious event causes everyone to blackout simultaneously for 2 minutes 17 seconds & each person sees a glimpse of their lives 6 months from now. The main character, FBI Agent Mark Benford (played by one of my favourite actors, the versatile Joseph Fiennes) has been called to uncover the cause of this Global Flash Forward & the person behind it.
The show appealing factor is that it invites you to embark on a journey to answer the question: "If you know what your future held, what would you do?"
For me, if its something bad, I'll try to avoid it, changing history. But if its something good, I'll hope it will come to pass soon! :D

Funny Cindy & Meiling
Swinging along...the 3 of us...
Ok this is not inside the cafe. Rather, its inside one of the fitting rooms @Robinsons! Meiling & I were bored waiting for Cindy to try on the inner clothings or 内在美, so seeing the really classic decor, decided to take snapshots again. Fun! :P
Its Meiling's off day today, Cindy & I met up with her for lunch & shopping @313 Orchard. We went to dine @this restaurant, 'Green House Cafe' with really cosy, serence & comfy ambience. @1st glance, one would think that it is a florist shop, nothing else. So I was rather surprised that food is available. Hehe! Good food too! Affordable different set meals daily. Most of all, the three of us absolutely enjoyed taking snapshots of one another. I would without hesitation visit this lovely place again! :D

Crossing Hennessy

I checked out this latest Jacky Cheung & Tang Wei's movie with my movie buddy recently. It was a feel good movie with simple storyline - LOVE. At the beginning of the movie, we see Jacky Cheung as a rather sloppy middle-aged man whose favourite hobby seemed to be sleeping. He could really sleep like a Koala. haha! He has a doting auntie who takes care of him lovingly. As the story moved on, we see both Jacky Cheung & Tang Wei's parents trying to matchmake them but in vain. Both of them @that point of time were attached @that point of time - Tang Wei waiting for her gangster boyfriend to be released from prison & Jacky Cheung's just divorced ex-girlfriend who came back to look for him (played by once my favourite TVB actress, Maggie Chueng Ho Yee) Soon after, as her friendship with Jacky slowly blossoming, her relationship with her boyfriend deterioated as she was fed-up & tired of him always trying to solve almost every problem using his fists & finally, they broke up. Initially, he couldn't really let go & looked Jacky up & you've guessed right, he bashed him up. He screamed @Jacky what was good about him & Jacky replied that he knows how to make her laugh. He was dumbfounded. Later on, he thought it over & decided to let Tang Wei. He sold the house & deposit the $$$ to her bank account. Now this is what I called True Love. If you truly, truly love someone, you would want her/him to be happy & would let him/her go instead. Simple truth but not all understand & can do so. On the other hand, Jacky find that he & Maggie Cheung are not suited for each other - Maggie always seemed so busy with her work that she neglected Jacky. I couldn't help but think that she was only making use of him. Jacky then told her that for the past few years, the reason he wasn't involved in another relationship was not because of her, but because he's concerned if he could be a good husband, a good lover. Now that's being so considerate. Many a time, many people just rushed into relationships & then rushed into marriage & in the end, perhaps rushed towards divorce as well? :O Being mentally prepared is very important, I find.
So to cut a long story short, Jacky after seeing his mum remarried, decided to go after Tang Wei. He found her in the usual eatery place. Story ends.
Refreshing pair- Jacky Cheung & Tang Wei. Jacky is a natural good actor. He doesn't over-act in a sense like erhem, for my personal view like Andy Lau. When u see Mr Lau act, you can tell that he's acting, sometimes trying too hard though. A good actor is one whom you can't tell that he's acting @all, he simply became that persona. As for Tang Wei, she has an aura of faint beauty 淡淡的美. Reminds me of Jacqueline Wu Qian Lian.
I give 3.5 stars out of 5 for Crossing Hennessy, for its simplicity & the ability for the viewers to relate to + of course, the thought-provoking messages & scenes. Art-based film with good & simple storyline. :)

Watching Jay Chou, at last! 终于可以去看周董演唱会了!
Got the tics to Jay Chou upcoming July concert, woohooo! :D Finally! Oh gosh, his concert tics are really hard to get! My pal, Cindy & I gotta login to Sistic early in the morning once we reached office. The moment the clock striked 9am, all hell broke loose, the website went completely haywire &literally traffic jammed for the next one hour! :O It was really exaggerating. The last concert 2008, also the same thing! History repeating itself. I mean, is it really Jay is that popular to that extend or because of senseless people who made it to be? Later on, as expected, the tics were sold on the black market for a ridiculous price as high as 1K! I mean, what the???? Make no sense @all. The organizer of the concert later due to overwhelming response, added in additional day of the concert. Its like they had sorta already foresee this. I couldn't help but to suspect that its a commercial gimmick. :-S
Thank God, Cindy was able to login & got the tickets! :) We were really praying hard & thank God for answering our prayers!
I'm so looking forward to go have a smashing time @Jay's concert during July! I read from the news that its gonna be a spectacular one this year, with eleborate stage set- 4D technology....wooo! I can't wait!
