Just finished watching Long Way Down on National Geographic Channel. One of my favourite actors, Ewan Mcgregor was mainly the reason that aroused my interest in watching the bike adventure reality show. :) Mcgregor & his best mate, Charley Boorman embarked on a journey to Capetown, South Africa by their trusted BMW bikes. They had to cross by 18 countries in between. In the midst of their journey, they got to taste the African way of life, embraced nature & the culture of the Africans. Really interesting! During their trip, they had some differences but managed to talk it out. Definitely, a 3 month trip together would either make you or break you.I liked Ewon Mcgregor ever since in "Shallow Grave". Back then, he was still a freshie in the Hollywood scene but definitely a rising star. He acted in mostly indie films initially, slowly making his way to Hollywood, to now, in major movies like "Star Wars" as Obi Wan Kenobi & "Moulin Rouge" with Nicole Kidman. Oh my, could he sing well! Talented indeed!
From this series, I could see Mcgregor a very down-to-earth person. Although he's a major movie star now, could see his head definitely did not swell up amidst all the attention around him & the fame he's getting. His friendship with Charley & relationship with his wife, Eve addens to the point that he's a good mate & loving husband + father. Really rare considering most of the Hollywood stars' way of life- a total spendthrift & full of prima donas & divas. For one thing, Mcgregor had his feet firmly grounded, all credits to his family & friends I reckon. Keeping a low-profile life, away from the spotlight & paparazzi invested Hollywood is definitely a wise choice. He is very real & not fake too. :)
Before this, they had another adventure @New York with "Long Way Up". I wanna catch that too! Hopefully can watch it on YouTube or something.
